Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways Catering Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supplier Compliance Specialist to strengthen supplier quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across its global supply chain. This role is responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently meet Qatar Airways' stringent standards for quality, food safety, halal compliance, manufacturing practices, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will manage supplier audits, assess compliance risks, monitor supplier performance, and collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Catering teams to maintain world-class quality assurance standards. About This Role
As a Supplier Compliance Specialist, you will oversee supplier qualification and compliance activities, conduct risk assessments and audits, validate certifications, and support supplier performance improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in protecting the integrity of Qatar Airways' catering supply chain by ensuring products, manufacturing processes, and suppliers comply with international food safety regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Compliance & Auditing
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and compliance audits across the global supply chain.
- Evaluate supplier performance against food safety, quality assurance, halal, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify supplier certifications and compliance documentation.
- Assess manufacturing facilities, production processes, and quality management systems.
- Maintain comprehensive audit records and compliance documentation.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
- Monitor manufacturing quality processes, including product sampling and Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections.
- Ensure supplier adherence to food safety standards and quality management requirements.
- Support the implementation of supplier assurance and food safety programs.
- Assist in developing and testing product recall procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement in supplier quality and compliance performance.
Supplier Performance Management
- Identify non-compliant or underperforming suppliers and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support vendor onboarding, technical evaluations, and supplier briefings.
- Monitor supplier risk indicators and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve compliance and operational performance.
Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Prepare detailed audit reports, compliance assessments, and annual quality assurance reports.
- Provide analytical insights to support supplier performance reviews and risk management.
- Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, Catering, and Quality teams to integrate compliance requirements into business operations.
- Support compliance investigations, due diligence activities, and operational disruption responses when required.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma, Vocational Qualification, or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Compliance, or Supplier Quality Management.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and managing quality assurance programs.
- Experience working within food manufacturing, airline catering, hospitality, FMCG, or related industries is preferred.
- Experience in supplier risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
