Sourcing Manager (Food Supply Chain)

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC), part of the Qatar Airways Group, is seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager (Food & Non-Food) to strengthen its Supply Chain team in Doha, Qatar. This strategic role is ideal for procurement and sourcing professionals with extensive experience in food sourcing, airline catering, or large-scale food service operations.

The successful candidate will lead sourcing initiatives, develop supplier strategies, identify innovative products, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the procurement of high-quality food and non-food products while maintaining cost efficiency and operational excellence.

About This Role

As a Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, evaluating suppliers, managing RFQ processes, analyzing market trends, and supporting procurement decisions that align with Qatar Airways Group's operational objectives. You will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Operations, and senior leadership to ensure continuous supply, product innovation, and cost optimization.

This role requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation expertise, supplier management experience, and a deep understanding of international food sourcing markets.

Key Responsibilities

🍽️ Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

✅ Develop and implement sourcing strategies for food and non-food categories.

✅ Manage RFQ documentation, technical specifications, and sourcing requirements.

✅ Evaluate sourcing opportunities to improve quality, cost efficiency, and supply continuity.

🤝 Supplier & Vendor Management

✅ Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.

✅ Identify, assess, and qualify new suppliers based on quality, capacity, and operational requirements.

✅ Support supplier evaluation, vendor qualification, and performance improvement initiatives.

📊 Market Research & Analysis

✅ Analyze market trends, pricing, supplier capabilities, and sourcing opportunities.

✅ Present market intelligence and sourcing recommendations to senior management.

✅ Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

🚚 Supply Chain Optimization

✅ Develop sourcing plans that support production capacity and business growth.

✅ Establish backup supplier networks to minimize supply disruptions.

✅ Recommend sourcing strategies that balance quality, logistics, and cost.

💡 Product Development & Innovation

✅ Source innovative food and non-food products to enhance onboard catering services.

✅ Attend international exhibitions and trade shows to identify new products and suppliers.

✅ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to introduce innovative sourcing solutions.

📋 Project & Stakeholder Management

✅ Lead sourcing projects and cross-functional initiatives.

✅ Coordinate with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Quality Assurance teams.

✅ Support continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing operations.

Minimum Requirements

🎓 Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Commerce, Hospitality, Food Technology, or a related field.
• CIPS Qualification or an equivalent professional purchasing qualification is preferred.

💼 Experience

• Minimum 6 years of relevant sourcing or procurement experience.
• Proven experience in airline catering or large-scale food service organizations is mandatory.
• Strong experience sourcing food and beverage products in international markets.
• Experience within the Middle East food sourcing market is essential.
