Senior Engineer

Ooredoo Qatar is looking for an experienced RAN Senior Engineer (Operations & Maintenance) to support the performance, stability, and availability of its Radio Access Network (RAN). This role is ideal for telecommunications professionals with hands-on experience in network operations, fault management, and mobile network optimization.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining Ooredoo's live mobile network by ensuring high availability, resolving technical issues, and supporting continuous improvements to network performance and service quality.

About This Role

As a RAN Senior Engineer (O&M), you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the Radio Access Network to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications services. You will investigate network alarms, troubleshoot complex technical issues, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement solutions that improve network reliability and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

📡 Radio Access Network Operations

✅ Monitor the health, availability, and performance of the live Radio Access Network (RAN).

✅ Ensure continuous network stability through proactive monitoring and maintenance activities.

✅ Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network faults and service disruptions.

⚙️ Operations & Maintenance

✅ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the mobile network.

✅ Investigate network alarms and coordinate timely issue resolution.

✅ Support software upgrades, network changes, and maintenance windows.

📊 Network Performance & Optimization

✅ Analyze network performance indicators and identify optimization opportunities.

✅ Monitor service quality and recommend improvements to enhance customer experience.

✅ Support capacity planning and network performance enhancement initiatives.

🤝 Technical Collaboration

✅ Work closely with Network Operations Center (NOC), Transmission, Core Network, and Field Operations teams.

✅ Coordinate with vendors and equipment suppliers for technical support when required.

✅ Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and performance documentation.

🔒 Compliance & Service Quality

✅ Ensure all operational activities comply with company standards and telecommunications best practices.

✅ Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

🎓 Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

💼 Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) Operations & Maintenance or a similar telecommunications role.
• Experience supporting live mobile network environments.
• Hands-on experience in transport network operations and maintenance.
