Manager Business & Infrastructure Development

Qatar Airways Cargo is seeking an experienced Business & Infrastructure Development Manager to lead strategic business initiatives, infrastructure development projects, and operational improvement programs that support long-term organizational growth. This role is ideal for professionals with strong project management, business planning, and infrastructure development experience within aviation, cargo, logistics, or large-scale operational environments.

The successful candidate will oversee business case development, feasibility studies, capital investment planning, project governance, and infrastructure initiatives while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Qatar Airways' strategic objectives.

About This Role

As a Business & Infrastructure Development Manager, you will drive business transformation by identifying growth opportunities, developing new operational capabilities, and managing complex infrastructure projects across Qatar Airways Cargo operations.

You will work closely with senior leadership, engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and operational stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of strategic projects while improving operational efficiency, customer experience, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

📈 Strategic Business Development

✅ Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, services, and strategic initiatives.

✅ Develop business growth strategies aligned with long-term organizational objectives.

✅ Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, financial assessments, and implementation plans.

🏗️ Infrastructure & Project Management

✅ Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major business and infrastructure development projects.

✅ Develop infrastructure expansion plans to support future operational growth.

✅ Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

📊 Project Governance & Performance

✅ Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and project milestones.

✅ Prepare project reports and progress updates for senior management.

✅ Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within approved timelines.

🤝 Stakeholder Management

✅ Collaborate with internal departments, external consultants, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders.

✅ Define operational, infrastructure, technology, and resource requirements.

✅ Support cross-functional teams throughout project implementation and operational transition.

⚙️ Business Improvement & Operational Excellence

✅ Develop operating models, governance frameworks, and business processes.

✅ Implement Lean and process improvement initiatives to optimize operational performance.

✅ Monitor project benefits and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.

🛫 Operational Readiness & Transition (ORAT)

✅ Coordinate Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition (ORAT) activities for major infrastructure projects.

✅ Support training, trial operations, and successful handover of completed facilities.

✅ Ensure new infrastructure is operationally ready before commissioning.

Minimum Requirements

🎓 Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, or a related discipline.

OR

• High School Qualification with extensive relevant experience.

💼 Experience

• Minimum 8 years of project management experience with a Bachelor's Degree.

OR

• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience with a High School Qualification.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or business transformation projects.
• Experience in aviation, cargo, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
