Mandarin Oriental, Doha is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join its Front Office team. This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals with luxury hotel experience who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while leading front office operations.

The successful candidate will oversee daily hotel operations, ensure outstanding guest satisfaction, manage service recovery, and support the Front Office leadership team in maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

About This Role

As a Duty Manager, you will act as the hotel's operational leader during your shift, ensuring seamless front office operations and exceptional guest service. You will handle guest concerns, supervise front-of-house activities, coordinate with various hotel departments, and respond effectively to operational challenges and emergencies.

This position is ideal for professionals who excel in leadership, problem-solving, and guest relations within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

🏨 Hotel Operations

✅ Oversee daily hotel operations and maintain a strong management presence across guest and back-of-house areas.

✅ Ensure smooth coordination between Front Office and other operational departments.

✅ Support the Front Office Manager in supervising daily front office activities.

🤝 Guest Relations & Service Excellence

✅ Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure timely service recovery.

✅ Investigate guest concerns and coordinate appropriate resolutions with relevant departments.

✅ Maintain accurate guest records and follow up on all service issues.

👥 Team Leadership

✅ Assist in supervising Front Office, Concierge, Bell Services, and Guest Relations teams.

✅ Support daily briefings, operational meetings, and shift handovers.

✅ Promote exceptional customer service standards across all front-of-house departments.

🚨 Emergency & Operational Management

✅ Participate as an active member of the hotel's Emergency Response Team (ERT).

✅ Make timely operational decisions during emergencies and high-pressure situations.

✅ Ensure operational procedures and safety standards are consistently followed.

📋 Administration & Reporting

✅ Complete shift reports and maintain accurate operational records.

✅ Communicate important updates to senior management.

✅ Ensure all follow-up actions are completed within required timelines.

Minimum Requirements

🎓 Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.

💼 Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a 5-star luxury hotel.
  • At least 2 years of experience as:
    • Duty Manager
    • Operations Manager
    • Front Office Manager
    • Similar leadership role within hospitality.
  • Previous experience in luxury hotel operations is highly preferred.
