Job Description/Specification:

This is a senior specialist role for an infrastructure expert who will lead the transformation of how major civil works are designed and delivered in Qatar. As the Chief Expert for MMC Implementation, you will shape the future of highways, bridges, tunnels, utilities, and drainage systems through advanced construction methods and digital engineering. If you are searching for Infrastructure Innovation Jobs, Civil Engineering Leadership Jobs, Digital Construction Jobs, MMC Jobs, or Qatar Jobs, this is a rare opportunity to influence national-scale infrastructure delivery.

💼 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) strategies across major infrastructure programs.
  • Identify opportunities for offsite construction, modular systems, and rapid deployment techniques in highways, bridges, and utilities.
  • Guide adoption of advanced digital infrastructure tools including digital twins, IoT monitoring, and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Define technical standards for MMC integration across infrastructure lifecycle stages.
  • Evaluate global best practices and adapt them for local implementation in Qatar’s infrastructure sector.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote awareness and adoption of MMC technologies.
  • Engage with international innovation hubs, research bodies, and technology providers.
  • Ensure MMC strategies align with national infrastructure priorities and governance frameworks.
  • Support integration of sustainability, resilience, and lifecycle efficiency into infrastructure design and delivery models.

🎯 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Chartered status or professional accreditation from a recognized international engineering institution.
  • Minimum 20 years of postgraduate experience in large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering programs.
  • At least 10 years in senior leadership roles focused on MMC, modular construction, or infrastructure innovation.
  • Strong GCC experience, preferably including Qatar (minimum 5 years in the region).
  • Deep knowledge of highways, bridges, tunnels, utilities, and large civil works delivery.
  • Proven experience in digital engineering tools such as digital twins or smart infrastructure systems.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure sustainability, carbon reduction, and lifecycle asset management.

🚀 Why You'll Love This Opportunity

  • Lead national transformation in infrastructure delivery through advanced construction technologies.
  • Work on high-impact projects that redefine how cities and transport systems are built.
  • Collaborate with global innovation leaders, research institutions, and technology providers.
  • Influence sustainability outcomes through modern, low-carbon construction approaches.
  • Access a competitive tax-free package, allowances, and strong professional development support.

👤 Who Should Apply?

This role is designed for senior infrastructure professionals who have led or influenced major civil engineering programs and are passionate about innovation in construction. If you have experience in large-scale highways, bridges, utilities, or transport infrastructure and have worked with modular construction or digital engineering tools, you will be a strong fit. Candidates should be comfortable operating at a strategic level, engaging with global experts, and shaping national infrastructure standards.

⭐ Skills That Will Help You Succeed

Success in this role requires systems thinking, technical leadership, and deep expertise in infrastructure delivery methods. You should understand how MMC integrates with asset management, digital platforms, and sustainability frameworks. Strong knowledge of precast systems, modular bridges, rapid construction methods, and infrastructure automation is essential. The ability to translate innovation into practical, scalable delivery standards will be critical.

💡 How to Stand Out

To stand out, highlight your experience leading or implementing MMC, modular construction, or digital infrastructure initiatives. Demonstrate measurable outcomes such as reduced construction time, improved sustainability performance, or cost optimization in major infrastructure programs. Experience working with international partners or introducing new construction technologies into traditional infrastructure environments will significantly strengthen your profile.

🎤 Interview Preparation

Expect strategic, concept-driven discussions focused on innovation in infrastructure delivery. You may be asked how you would implement MMC across a national highway program, integrate digital twins into asset management systems, or evaluate the feasibility of modular bridge systems. Be prepared to discuss real-world examples of innovation adoption, stakeholder resistance, and large-scale implementation challenges. Reviewing global MMC trends and digital infrastructure case studies will help you stand out.

📈 Career Growth

This role can lead to global advisory positions, Chief Infrastructure Innovation roles, or Director-level positions in major engineering, government, or infrastructure organizations focused on digital transformation and sustainable construction.
