- Partner with software architects and development teams to embed Security by Design principles into new SaaS products.
- Configure and manage Google Cloud security services, including IAM, Cloud Armor, Secret Manager, VPC Service Controls, and Security Command Center.
- Strengthen application security by implementing API protection, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), DDoS mitigation, and secure multi-tenant environments.
- Integrate security testing tools such as SAST, DAST, and container scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, recommend practical remediation strategies, and support incident response activities.
- Develop security automation using Infrastructure as Code and scripting technologies.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to improve the organization's overall cloud security posture.
π― Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.

π€ Who Should Apply?
This role is ideal for experienced cloud security professionals who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and influencing engineering decisions. If you prefer building secure systems rather than focusing solely on compliance or governance, you'll likely thrive in this environment. Candidates with experience securing SaaS platforms, implementing DevSecOps pipelines, and working directly with software development teams will find this role especially rewarding.
β Skills That Will Help You Succeed
Success in this position comes from combining deep technical expertise with strong collaboration skills. You'll need to communicate security concepts clearly, influence technical decisions without slowing development, and balance risk with practical engineering solutions. Experience with threat modeling, automation, cloud networking, secure coding practices, and Infrastructure as Code will help you stand out. Staying current with emerging cybersecurity threats and Google Cloud security features is equally valuable.
π‘ How to Stand Out
Employers hiring for senior cloud security positions want to see measurable impact, not just a list of technologies. On your CV, highlight examples where you improved an organization's security posture, reduced vulnerabilities, automated security processes, or successfully implemented DevSecOps practices. If you've secured multi-cloud environments, built Terraform modules, integrated SAST or DAST into deployment pipelines, or responded to security incidents, include those achievements with measurable outcomes. Cloud security certifications and contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, or security communities can also strengthen your application.
π€ Interview Preparation
Expect technical discussions rather than theoretical security questions. You may be asked how you would secure a new SaaS platform on Google Cloud, design IAM policies, respond to a security incident, or integrate automated security testing into a CI/CD pipeline. Review Google Cloud security services, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, API security best practices, Terraform, and common DevSecOps workflows. Be ready to explain the reasoning behind your technical decisions and share examples from previous projects where you balanced security, performance, and business needs.
π Career Growth
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop into a Cloud Security Architect, Principal Security Engineer, DevSecOps Lead, or Cybersecurity Manager. Working on enterprise SaaS platforms and modern cloud infrastructure will strengthen your expertise in Google Cloud, application security, automation, and technical leadership—skills that are in high demand across Qatar, the GCC, and global technology organizations.
